“Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?” (Mathew 7:9).
I realized this week I had been praying for the wrong thing.
My prayer was not outside of God’s will, nor contrary to how He is working in this particular situation.
It was simply “less than.”
I saw a worldly need, and He saw the spiritual need behind it. God had something so much bigger, so much more important in mind. His solution is not a quick fix, nor is it painless, but it is one with eternal blessings.
I am so thankful that we have a loving, limitless Father who gives us even more than that for which we know to ask.
