Guide My Mind; Guide My Hands

You shall bind them [God’s words] as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes” (Deuteronomy 6:8).

Our hands symbolize our actions, all we do. Our forehead or “between [our] eyes” represents our minds, all we think. And God’s Word is to be our guide for both.

So when our minds struggle with thoughts of inadequacy, shame, fear of the future, or forgiveness, it is on God’s Word we need to meditate.

When we face the hard choices, see a need, wonder how to serve, or just need to pour out some love, it is God’s Word that should inform our actions.

As imperfect humans seeking to faithfully follow Jesus, we constantly need guidance for our thoughts and our deeds. So let us bring them into the presence of our loving, limitless God. Let us read His Word and allow it to speak truth into our souls.

Until next time,

Shelby
