“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with out eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with out hands, concerning the word of life” (1 John 1:1).

Because of Jesus, I have a story to tell.
“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with out eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with out hands, concerning the word of life” (1 John 1:1).
The apostles walked with Jesus, did life with Jesus, and learned at the feet of Jesus. They witnessed the miracles He performed during his life, and the miracle of His resurrection from death. And that firsthand knowledge became their testimony—their story to tell—of all they had seen, and heard, and even touched.
Friend, we also have a story to tell. We also have the privilege of walking with our Savior and learning at His feet. We also do life with Jesus, for He is “with [us] always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20b).
We may feel like our lives are simple, our impact small, and our stories just the stuff of everyday life—but they are so much more.
- We get to tell about how Jesus spoke to us through neighbors, friends, or the Holy Spirit when we felt so alone.
- We get to paint a picture of the million ways we see Him in our lives every day—from the kind words of a stranger to the beauty of the sunrise.
- We get to share the story of how we feel His touch—His touch on our hearts and fingerprints on our lives.
Yes, each of us has been gifted a story. So what have you heard, what have you seen, and how have you been touched by Jesus, the Word of Life?
Until next time,
Shelby
