From Broken to Beautiful: We All Have a Story

“Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, ‘He told me all that I ever did’” (John 4:39).

I may be the owner of a small, simple soul, but I am also a vessel of the Holy Spirit of our loving, limitless God.

I may feel I have nothing to offer God, but that’s the beauty of it. He takes who I am and uses me anyway.

Consider the Samaritan woman at the well.  She had been married to five different husbands and was living with another man to whom she was not married.  She was, for all intents and purposes, hiding from the other members of her town by visiting a well at the heat of the day when no one else would be there.

From a human perspective, the woman at the well had nothing to offer Jesus but a messy past and sinful present.

But do you know what Jesus did?

He used her anyway.  He took her damaged, broken soul and turned it into a beautiful testimony for the Living God.

How beautiful.  Jesus saw her.  He loved her.  He used the only thing she could offer—her own story.

Friend, Jesus see you.  He loves you. And He will use whatever you have to offer, even if it seems messy, painful or small.

Until next time,

Shelby
