A New Year’s Resolution

2026

“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26).

With a new year, our thoughts turn to new beginnings.

We might:

  • devise new goals to accomplish.
  • contemplate a new word to help focus us in all we do.
  • strive to reinvent who are are, leaving behind the baggage of our past selves and finding new purpose and renewed joy in a brand new start.

But as we contemplate these things, let us remember that there is only One with the ability to make all things new:  Jesus (Revelation 21:5).

When we align our goals with His, when He is the focus of all we do, that’s where new growth truly begins. When we choose to love Jesus and serve Him as our Savior, He doesn’t just reinvent who are are, He changes our very hearts. And in so doing, He transforms us into who we were always meant to be.

So as we step into 2026, may this be our resolution: to invite Jesus to do a new work in our hearts, transforming our lives into something beautiful and new.

Until next time,

Shelby
