“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).

There was nothing remarkable about walking down the road to get from point A to point B. There was nothing remarkable about waking each dawn and lying down each night. And if you are a mother (and are being completely honest) there are days you have felt there was nothing remarkable about picking up yet another toy or helping with one more math problem.
Have you ever felt like your life was on repeat, weekly living out the same mixture of chaos and routine? That your days were small and your impact smaller?
Take heart. Each small, ordinary day is infused with great purpose and possibility when placed in the hands of our loving, limitless God. So much so that He commanded us to use those most ordinary of times for His glory.
Every child we love, every stranger we meet, every friend we walk beside is someone upon whom we can pour out God’s love and with whom we can share God’s truth.
Every morning we wake is an opportunity to turn out thoughts to the One who gave us that day and to ask Him to be with us in each mundane act and each messy moment.
Every night we lay our head down to rest is a day for which to give thanks and to ask God to grow the seeds we didn’t even realize we planted.
So let’s embrace the small moments of life and invite God into the unremarkable. Then, let’s patiently wait to see how He turns small moments into lasting legacies.
Until next time,
Shelby
