“Let love be genuine” (Romans 12:9).

What if we stopped hiding our flaws?

What if we allowed ourselves be the somewhat awkward, imperfect, “that-did’t-come-out-quite-right” people that we are?

Do you really think people would turn away?

Or would our honesty and authenticity draw them in?

I am more convinced than ever that people crave real connection. They want to know they are not alone in their their struggles, their messes, and their mistakes. They want the reassurance that it’s ok to be imperfect, because we are imperfect, too.

So let’s be brave. 

Let’s trust that God can use our imperfect, heartfelt attempts at love to reach the people He places in our lives.

Because the most powerful love we can offer isn’t a polished, perfect version—

It’s a genuine one.
