Week 2
“Where were you when I established the earth? Tell me if you have understanding. Who fixed its dimensions? Certainly you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it?” (Job 38:4-5).

Vast.
Immense.
Unfathomable.
If our human minds struggle to comprehend the expansive nature of the universe,
how much more the God who spoke it into existence?
Yet it is His limitless nature that gives our souls rest.
Because our God is that vast,
suddenly our afflictions no longer feel quite so consuming.
Because our God is that immense,
our fears are quieted by His peace.
Because His love is that unfathomable,
our deepest sins are drowned in mercy.
Last week I invited you pause and take a breath from busyness,
and simply sit in the presence of our God.
Today, let’s allow these verses from Job to life our eyes again to His greatness and glory:
“Where were you when I established the earth?
Tell me if you have understanding.
Who fixed its dimensions?
Certainly you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?”
(Job 38:4-5)
Until next time,
Shelby
