“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:26).

Friends, please, can we normalize not being enough?
I understand why we say it… “You are enough.”
We are trying to emphasize the inherent value we have as individuals beautifully created by God. That it doesn’t matter what we bring to the plate—all God wants is us.
And that is true.
And that is beautiful.
But when we face challenges, hard days, and daunting tasks with“You are enough,” it will only leave us empty and burned out from trying to be more, do more, and give more than we are created to do on our own.
What if, instead, we gave ourselves permission to NOT be enough?
What if it was okay to realize we have limits? Admit we get tired? To recognize we still need God’s help to shape and refine our hearts?
Because here is the beautiful truth:
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:26).
Oh, friend, we don’t have to be enough.
Jesus already is.
And that changes everything.
Until next time,
Shelby
